If there’s one place you absolutely need to book early, it’s The Test Kitchen. With a daily rotating menu and chef-driven creativity, it’s less of a restaurant and more of a culinary journey with Virgin Voyages food.
Our meal began with a mushroom pâté that looked just like a halved mushroom but surprised us with creamy richness. Extra Virgin delivers rustic Italian charm with a modern edge. Everything is served in courses, allowing you to savor a bit of everything. The handmade pastas were the standout here—pillowy, rich, and flavorful enough to convince you you’re dining in Rome. The wine pairings rounded it all out beautifully.
The Wake: Steaks and sea views
Our final Virgin Voyages food experience was at The Wake. This steakhouse is a classic amid the diverse list of Virgin Voyages restaurants. We dined early, under a perfect blue sky, with a window seat and ocean views that stole the show.
I gave bone marrow a try (not quite my thing, but beautifully presented), while the rest of the table enjoyed expertly cooked steaks and elevated sides. A more traditional option on the ship, but no less impressive.
