Disney Cruise Line is hard at work with another new attraction for cruisers to get excited about called Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. This is a private beach retreat in the Bahamas that only passengers on select Disney cruises will have the chance to enjoy. This tropical paradise promises to be a vibrant and colorful addition to Disney’s repertoire and is just one more reason why Disney is one of the most exciting cruise brands on the sea. If you are as excited as we are about this new destination, read on to get the lowdown on what is coming with the impending opening of Disney Lookout Cay.

About Disney Lookout Cay

Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is a new Bahamian private destination that is located on the southern tip of Eleuthera Island, the island that is directly East from Nassau. This is Disney’s second private destination in the Bahamas, after the iconic Castaway Cay, and it sets itself apart with a unique style that pays tribute to the beauty of nature. Architecture here pays homage to the curves and colors of the vibrant beaches and forests of the Bahamas creating a magical island experience fit for Disney. They have also partnered with artists, historians, and cultural ambassadors to bring an authentic taste of the Bahamas to every corner of the retreat, from the murals and sculptures peppered throughout, to the festive spirit of a street parade that permeates from beach to beach.

Vibrant Island Experiences

As you would expect from a Disney destination, there are tons of fun and adventurous experiences for you to enjoy at Disney Lookout Cay. In the center of the compound, the Arts and Cultural Pavilion hosts special programs and presentations from local artists to learn about and celebrate the culture and the ecosystems of the Bahamas. You can also embark on adventures beyond Lighthouse Point by taking advantage of a collection of all-new excursions developed in partnership with local tour operators to explore Eleuthera. If you are more in the mood to just relax and pamper yourself, reserve a beachside cabana and enjoy the decorations provided by local artists as you luxuriate in the soothing beauty of nature.

Family Fun

Disney is well-known as the premier “family-friendly” brand, so you know that a family vacation to Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is sure to be a fun time for all. In addition to the expansive beach that wraps around the tip of the peninsula, they have an interactive water play area featuring 2 slides that your kids will love, where they can play with the water drums or splash around in the fountains. There are plenty of games for the whole family as well, with features like a gaming pavilion, a gaga ball pit, and a volleyball court. The market-style dining also makes for a fun experience for families looking to share in some freshly grilled grab-n-go meals.

Just for Adults

Visiting Disney Lookout Cay isn’t just for families though, and if you don’t want to be around a ton of kids, then they have got you covered as well. There are a couple of adult-only attractions at Lighthouse Point that will keep the noise and distraction away so that you can enjoy your vacation in peace (or maybe get away from your own kids for a bit!). The adult-only beach is perfect for taking a relaxing dip in the tranquil waters of the Bahamas, and also happens to be where you can rent a private cabana for even more seclusion. There are also 3 adult-only bars spread across the island, where you can grab a cool cocktail or go on a romantic date. Just because Disney is family-friendly doesn’t mean it is just for kids!

Just for Kids

Any vacation with the kids is going to require some time without the kids, and for that Disney Lookout Cay has their very own kids club where you can drop off your tiny tikes to be watched and entertained by professional counselors. Here they will get to participate in fun, guided activities like games and making crafts. Kids can also enjoy the water play area inspired by The Little Mermaid for a fun little adventure “under the sea.” They also have a designated dining area just for kids where they can share snacks and make friends with other kids visiting the island. More details on these areas will be coming in the near future, so we’ll be keeping our eye out!00
